Fees for Fund Stewardship

Similar to other types of investment managers, the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln does not charge any upfront fees to donors. Instead, the Foundation retains an annual management fee determined by the total volume of assets under management in any one fund. A summary of our standard fees for fund stewardship is shown below. The current minimum balance to create a named fund is $20,000 for all funds except donor-advised funds, which are $10,000.

Annual Management Fees For Component Funds
A) Unrestricted, field of interest, donor-advised and scholarship funds:
Up to $499,999 1.50%
$500,000 - $999,999 1.25%
$1 million - $1,999,999 1.00%
$2 million - $4,999,999 0.85%
$5 million - $9,999,999 0.65%
$10 million & above 0.50%
B) Organizational endowment and designated funds:
Up to $499,999 1.00%
$500,000 - $999,999 0.90%
$1 million - $1,999,999 0.85%
$2 million - $4,999,999 0.75%
$5 million - $9,999,999 0.65%
$10 million & above 0.50%

Fees are based on the average annual principal balance.

These fees are not inclusive of the investment management fees and the internal management fees charged by mutual funds. The Community Foundation will endeavor, at all times, to negotiate the lowest fees possible using the collective buying power of the pooled accounts.
