John G. Stremsterfer
- Executive Director

As the Executive Director, Mr. Stremsterfer's responsibilities are to oversee the development, expansion and leadership activities of the Community Foundation, while increasing philanthropic awareness throughout the community.

John came to the Community Foundation from the University of Illinois at Springfield where he served as the Director of Major Gift Development. Prior to UIS, he was Director of Institutional Advancement for Ursuline Academy in Springfield and also spent two years working in the Governor Jim Edgar administration, where he was a Dunn Fellow. In 2006 John was a participant in the American Memorial Marshall Fellowship through the German Marshall Fund. He has served on a number of community, statewide and regional boards, including: Leadership Springfield, the Citizens Club of Springfield, Donors Forum and Midwest Community Foundation Ventures.

John is a Springfield native. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Illinois College, an associate degree from Springfield College in Illinois, and is a graduate of Springfield Ursuline Academy. John and his wife Trina live in Springfield with their daughter Ileana and son Dean.


 Jennifer Sublett

Ms. Sublett is responsible for donor services and public relations for the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln. Her responsibilities include working with the individuals, families and organizations that have charitable funds established at the Foundation. She also directs the Community Foundation's marketing and media relations, as well as several grantmaking and scholarship programs.

Before joining the Community Foundation, Jennifer was the Development Director for Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County. Jennifer also served as the Outreach Director for the Illinois Environmental Council in Springfield. Jennifer graduated from Illinois State University in Normal where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She also attended Humboldt State University in northern California through the National Student Exchange program.

Jennifer is a native of Springfield and serves on the local boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Sierra Club.











Stacy Reed

Stacy joined the Community Foundation in February 2009 after a ten-year career in public affairs. At CFLL, Stacy’s primary role as program director is to oversee coordination and implementation of the Continuum of Learning – a joint venture of the Community Foundation, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Central Illinois - to help ensure all members of our community are “ready to learn, ready to work, and ready to succeed.”

Stacy came to the Community Foundation from Public Communications Inc. in Chicago where she served as an account supervisor managing public awareness campaigns for a variety of nonprofit, education and health care clients. Prior to that role she coordinated internal and external communications efforts for Peoples Energy and served as a senior account executive at Jasculca/Terman and Associates in Chicago.

She earned her BA degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Iowa and her MA degree in organizational communication from DePaul University. A native of the Springfield area, Stacy lives in Chatham with her husband Scott and daughters Annie and Lucy.


Sandee Horn - Administrative Assistant

Sandee joined the staff in the fall of 2011 after relocating to Springfield from Madison, WI. Prior to the Community Foundation, she worked for a small nonprofit in Madison, as well as having experience in print production/marketing project coordination and general office management. Sandee lives in Springfield near Washington Park.
